You may have seen recent news coverage behind the planned conversion of the Bristol Debenhams department store into a skate park, but did you know the idea was suggested by us?

The former Debenhams building in Bristol city centre will eventually be demolished but before then, its ground floor will be transformed into a purpose-built skate park that will be open for a year from March.
The inspiration behind this unexpected – and welcome – transformation is James Woodard, director in our retail agency.
He confirms that we really needed to “think outside the box” to find a temporary use for the closed store, stating: “The rise of leisure in city centres got us thinking about how we could use the big open space, and we quickly landed on a skatepark concept”.
