Due to an increased demand for school places in the local area, Hartnell Taylor Cook Cost Consultancy were appointed as the Quantity Surveyor to deliver the expansion works at Lea & Garsdon Primary School on behalf of Wiltshire Council.
The works comprise a new build 3 classroom building with new hall and catering kitchen together with extensive remodelling of the existing school in order to expand the school by 105 pupil places and improve the functionality of the school. Externally, the project involves the provision of a new multi-use games area (MUGA) and significant expansion of the car park and grass sports pitch.
The works were procured on a single-stage competitive tender under the JCT Standard Building Contract without quantities (2016 Edition) and completion is on track to ensure the remodelled school is fully operational by the new 2022 academic year.
