Celebrating Christmas

On 11th December, we all took a little time to celebrate being together at our now near-legendary annual Christmas party.

As ever, this was a fancy dress party with a theme – the 1980s – that offered plenty of flexibility to the creative and unimaginative alike. There was but one limitation: nothing new was allowed. Our people were tasked with recycling, upcycling, borrowing or making their costume this year in order to ensure a more environmentally-friendly and sustainable event.

Held at the Avon Gorge Hotel Du Vin, our band of A-Team, Batmen, Adam Ants, Pacmen, Goonies and double-denim wearing folks gathered for lunch, interspersed with speeches and games, under the serene gaze of the Clifton Suspension Bridge outside. Once the sun had gone down and the last Christmas cracker pulled, we headed out into the evening to explore Bristol’s night life. After all, you don’t reach 123 years of trading without knowing how to let your hair down a little sometimes, too.10
