Some of our Property & Asset Management team undertook a Social Value Day with our client, The Co-operative Group, at the Octopus Community Plant Nursery in Islington.
Volunteers from Hartnell Taylor Cook included Tom Dadswell, Jamie Hewson, Arthur Bruce, George Ives and Dan Kessi, while Co-op was represented by Manus (Yiu Man) Wong and Shereen Harrack-Singh, who joined in with the efforts with enthusiasm and encouragement.
Together, we spent the day painting fences, creating a woodchip path, building a bug hotel, clearing waste, and generally sprucing up the community space; helping to maintain and improve this fantastic local resource.
Although a lot of hard work, we found it was a brilliant day that really gave us a sense of satisfaction having given back a little to the community. Seeing the difference we made together, from tidy paths to vibrant fences, was incredibly rewarding. And the best part? We had fun doing it.
Events like this remind us why community engagement and social value are at the heart of what we do at Hartnell Taylor Cook. Every one of us is encouraged to take one day a year to volunteer for a cause that matters to us and it’s great to see so many taking up this benefit. Whether painting fences or building bug hotels, we’re proud to roll up our sleeves and make a real difference.
