We’re proud to announce that we have achieved the Disability Confident Employer accreditation today.

The Disability Confident scheme is a UK Government initiative that supports employers in becoming more inclusive and accessible. It encourages businesses to think differently about disability and to take positive action in the recruitment, retention, and development of disabled people. By achieving this certification, we have demonstrated a clear commitment to ensuring that everyone – regardless of ability – has the opportunity to thrive within our organisation.

As a Disability Confident employer, we’re taking proactive steps to challenge attitudes, increase understanding, and support individuals with disabilities or health conditions throughout the recruitment process and in the workplace. This includes making reasonable adjustments, ensuring accessibility, and fostering a culture of openness and support.

We are committed to:

  • Ensuring our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible
  • Communication and promoting vacancies
  • Anticipating and providing reasonable adjustments as required
  • Supporting our existing people who acquire a disability or long-term health condition, enabling them to stay in work
  • Undertaking at least one activity that will make a difference for disabled people.

It’s our experience that a truly inclusive business is one that benefits from the diverse perspectives and talents of all its people. For that reason, becoming Disability Confident not only strengthens our values as a responsible employer, but also helps us to attract and retain great talent from a wider pool.

This recognition is not the end of the journey, but a key step forward. We’ll continue to learn, grow, and evolve our practices to ensure that Hartnell Taylor Cook remains a place where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
