Matthew Sharkey appointed as Head of London Office and James Proctor named Head of London Agency
Leading commercial property consultancy Hartnell Taylor Cook has today announced the appointment of Matthew Sharkey as its Head of London Office and James Proctor as Head of London Agency, effective 1st November 2025.
In his capacity as Head of London Office, Matthew will oversee the strategic direction for Hartnell Taylor Cook’s London team, overseeing its growth following a number of new client wins. This is in addition to his day-to-day position as a Partner in the Project & Building Consultancy division.
With over 25 years’ experience in Building Consultancy and just under eight years with the business, Matthew is well placed to drive Hartnell Taylor Cook’s continued success across the capital having worked on notable projects including the delivery of Argyll House, a 50,000 sq ft of CAT A office refurbishment over separate contracts totalling circa £5 million and overseeing the incoming licence of alterations for our client’s tenants.
Meanwhile, James Proctor takes on the role of Head of London Agency, extending his leadership beyond his current position as Head of Central London Offices. In his new capacity, James will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s agency operations across London, driving business development and strengthening relationships with key clients.
Since joining the company in 2023, James has been instrumental in securing several high-profile instructions, contributing to the agency team’s record growth over the past 12 months.
Both appointments follow hot on the heels of David North becoming Managing Partner at Hartnell Taylor Cook, effective 1st November, and forms the latest steps in the firm’s continued growth plan across both Bristol and London offices amid increased appetite for its services.
