Honey with a heart: how our bees are making a difference

21st October is National Honey Day; a celebration organised by the British Beekeepers’ Association to highlight the importance of honeybees and the vital role they play in supporting our environment.

Honey with a heart: how our bees are making a difference

At Hartnell Taylor Cook we’ve been doing our bit to support bees since 2022, when we began sponsoring hives in Dyrham, a beautiful bit of countryside just outside Bristol. It’s been a brilliant way to give back to nature and help protect local biodiversity, and this week, we’ve had the sweetest reward yet: the arrival of our very own honey just in time for National Honey Day.

Fresh from our hives, each jar is a little taste of the countryside and a reminder of how important it is to look after the natural world around us. Even better, we’re selling our honey internally to raise money for our chosen charity, St Mungo’s, which does incredible work supporting people experiencing homelessness.

We’re so proud to see our hives thriving and to know that our buzzing friends are not only helping the environment, but also helping to make a difference in our communities and to our lives as well. We’ve had the great pleasure over the years of being able to visit the beehives and learn more about them first hand.
