Marking International Women’s Day in 2026

Celebrating International Womens day 2026 Harntell Taylor Cook

As International Women’s Day fell on a Sunday this year, the event was marked across the business with a series of activities that brought our people together around the southwest. From sweatworking sessions to networking breakfasts and site tours, our colleagues took part in quite a range of inspiring activities.

The celebrations began with an International Women’s Day Sip’n’Sweat event at the Workout Harbourside Gym, where Beth Warren led a high‑energy spin class as part of Women in Property’s Sweatworking series. She was joined by Stacey Webb and Sophie Allen, who – eventually – embraced the concept of sweating first and networking after. The session brought together a lively mix of built environment professionals and delivered exactly what Sweatworking promises: meaningful conversations, plenty of movement and a healthy dose of laughter. Beth somehow persuaded a room full of industry professionals that dancing on a stationary bike is both normal and achievable, with photographic evidence to prove it. The group moved over to nearby Harbour House for food to refuel afterwards.

That same week, Alan Bryant, Sophie Allen and Miranda Anglias attended an International Women’s Day networking breakfast at Harvey Nichols. Alongside eggs, bacon and pastries, the trio enjoyed networking and talks from a panel who aim to encourage professionals to ‘embrace giving to gain’. The key takeaway? Sharing knowledge, offering support and contributing to community initiatives are powerful ways to create positive change.

Meanwhile, in north Bristol, Beth Bennett and Stacey Webb attended the International Women’s Day networking event hosted by South Gloucestershire Council at the Aztec Hotel and Spa. The event brought together women from a wide range of professions, providing an opportunity to make new connections, exchange ideas and celebrate the achievements of women across the region.

The final event took place on 19th March, when Beth Warren and Sophie Allen joined Women in Property South West for a site tour of the Spitfire Hangar at Brabazon in Bristol. Delivered by a predominantly female‑led team, the project offered a fitting backdrop for International Women’s Day celebrations. The tour, led by Helen Newman and Andrew Kemp, provided a fascinating insight into the design and delivery of the space, although one highlight of the morning was undoubtedlypastries from Mokoko Bakery!

International Women’s Day matters to us because it gives us a moment to recognise the contribution women make across our business and the wider property industry. More importantly, it also allows us to reflect on where progress is being made and where more work is needed.

Thanks to everyone who organised, hosted and attended these many events in March. It’s been a productive, and meaningful month.
