While golf is a staple of many networking calendars, it can still feel daunting for those who have never picked up a club. Beth Warren and Jess Smith joined an event designed to break down that barrier, which was hosted by Women in Property South West in partnership with Women in Golf & Business at Bowood Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort.
The session provided an introduction to the fundamentals of the game led by coach Nicky Lawrenson, and offered a practical opportunity to try golf in a supportive setting. The morning covered key techniques, the importance of focus and the value of applying a clear approach to each shot. Good rules for gold, and also good rules to translate into day‑to‑day working practices, too.
The event concluded with a light‑hearted team challenge, where Beth and Jess were delighted to win the “nearest the basket” prize.
Overall, the session offered a useful way to build confidence, learn a new skill and connect with other professionals from across the region.
