Making the world around us a better place is a core part of who we are at Hartnell Taylor Cook. Through our volunteering programme, each member of our team is encouraged to take one paid day a year to volunteer for a charity close to their heart, with many taking full advantage of the opportunity.

Volunteering to Make a Difference: A Day at Avon Riding Centre
In late August, four of our people chose to spend their volunteering day just outside Bristol at the Avon Riding Centre for the Disabled, where they helped transform an outdoor area into a sensory woodland walk.
Creating Inclusive Outdoor Spaces
Organised by Alan Bryant, the day saw Alan, Joe Woodley, Michelle Klein, and Rebecca Harries working together to create an inclusive and engaging space. The team built a sensory trail, a woodland stage, and a fully accessible mud kitchen; all designed to be available to the charity’s visitors from September.
These new additions were thoughtfully designed to be inclusive for all, including wheelchair users, and will enhance the experience at the Centre, which offers equine and nature-based activities.
The team’s efforts were welcomed by the charity with a spokesperson commenting: “We really appreciate the work you’ve done. It looks amazing, thank you!”
A Lasting Impact on the Local Community
At HTC, we’re proud to support charities in Bristol and beyond, and we continue to encourage our teams to use their volunteering day allowance to support causes they care about.
Further volunteering opportunities with the Avon Riding Centre For The Disabled are already being discussed – watch this space!
