A big thank you to Georgina Batt for organising a lunchtime green ‘office escape’ to mark World Mental Health Day on Friday 10th October.

Georgie took a small group of HTC colleagues for a walk around the Downs. Their destination? To find the famous goats; a small herd of billy goats in a fenced-off area of the Avon Gorge known as the Gully, which borders the edge of The Downs. The goats were introduced to restore wildflower-rich grassland by munching woody species like bramble and scrub enabling smaller, rarer plants to thrive.
The result of the walk was clear: to take a moment away from screens and desks, breathe in some fresh air and gain a change in perspective – something effectively achieved with the space and greenery of the Downs quite literally outside our Bristol office.
The walk offered more than just a physical break; it provided an opportunity to chat, unwind, and reflect on the importance of mental health, both in and out of the workplace. Even a short stroll, surrounded by nature, can have a positive impact on mood, focus, and overall well being.
At Hartnell Taylor Cook, we understand that looking after our mental health is just as important as any other part of our professional lives. Initiatives like this are a reminder that taking a little time for ourselves is key to a happy, healthy working environment.
Thank you to Georgie and everyone who joined in for making the day special.
