Action

AEW tasked us with finding a “meanwhile” use for the former Debenhams site in central Bristol, ahead of its future transformation into a 28-storey residential tower with ground-floor commercial space. With a strong focus on activating the site and injecting vibrancy into the area, the idea of a leisure-led interim use was quickly formed.

We engaged early with Campus Skateparks, well known for their creative projects and deep local roots, to explore possibilities for the space. The result- a truly unique 18,000 sq ft facility that combines a skatepark with a Bristol Beer Factory-fronted bar, a coffee shop and arcade – creating an engaging destination for the city and a cost-effective solution for our client.

This project reflects the power of imaginative, temporary uses in shaping dynamic urban environments and breathing new life into underutilised spaces.
