Senior Client Accountant – Bristol



Permanent Full Time – Bristol Office

We have a position available immediately in our Bristol Office for a Client Accountant. The role will encompass all aspects of Client Accounting and applicants will need to demonstrate a good working knowledge of purchase ledger, sales ledger, nominal ledger, VAT, bank reconciliations, general reconciliation and RICS regulations.

Key responsibilities: –

  • Ensure that all client and property accounting services are delivered to a consistently high standard and to the service levels required by the client
  • Reconciliation of rent ledgers and payment of funds to clients
  • Review of VAT reports and client statements
  • Liaising with service charge accountant and surveyors to ensure the completion of end of year accounts are closed without any undue delay
  • Ensuring that charges are raised in accordance with the lease and RICS guidelines
  • Liaise with surveyors to monitor service charge budgets, maintain cash flow and adhoc      queries
  • Variance reporting
  • Deal with surveyor, tenant and client queries
  • Assist with the implementation of new properties or instructions onto the TRAMPS system
  • Manage void funding, update on account charges and production interest reports and charges
  • Manage electricity accounts and recharges to tenants
  • Review bank reconciliations and bank transfers
  • Review purchase ledger and sales ledger information to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Perform adhoc accounting functions as and when required

Main Accountabilities:-

·       Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of client accounting records, including client statements and/or profit and loss and balance sheet reporting, VAT and other tax reporting, charges to tenants and clients, rent deposits, and bank, cash, and maintaining and collating supporting information as required

  • First point of contact with designated clients and tenants
  • Ensure that services are delivered in accordance with agreed contracts and timescales

Skills and Experience:-

Essential:        

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Previously worked in a Client Accountant (or equivalent) role within a commercial property environment
  • A good understanding of the principles of financial and management accounting
  • A strong work ethic and as part of a team meet strict deadlines ensuring a high level of numeracy, accuracy and therefore impeccable attention to detail
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Have the ability to analyse financial information and disseminate to non-finance people

Desirable:

  • Good working knowledge of Tramps, Bluebox, Yardi or equivalent
  • Knowledge of RICS, VAT and NRL guidelines and procedures
