We’re delighted to see Partner, Jonathan Marwood, formally admitted to The Chartered Surveyors’ Company earlier this week in a ceremony taking place at the historic Watermen’s Hall in central London.
Jonathan Marwood commented: “Being admitted to The Chartered Surveyors’ Company at such a historic venue is a real honour. It’s a privilege to join a community with such a strong heritage and commitment to the profession. I’m very much looking forward to contributing to, and being part of its future.”
The Chartered Surveyors’ Company is one of the modern livery companies of the City of London, bringing together senior professionals from across the surveying industry to promote excellence, support education and champion the highest standards within the profession. Membership is by invitation and reflects both professional achievement and a commitment to contributing to the wider industry.
Livery companies have their roots in ancient institutions, with origins dating back to medieval times. Many were first established between the 12th and 14th centuries as guilds that regulated trades, set professional standards and protected the interests of their members. Nowadays, their modern evolution sees them focusing on promoting excellence, supporting education and contributing to charitable and civic life. They remain an important part of the City’s traditions, bringing together professionals who share a commitment to their craft and its future.
Jonathan’s admission is an important milestone, recognising not only his expertise and leadership within Hartnell Taylor Cook, but also his contribution to the profession more broadly. Being part of the Company provides opportunities to engage with industry leaders, support charitable initiatives and help shape the future of surveying through education and outreach.
A fantastic and well-deserved achievement, we’re delighted to see Jonathan recognised in this way.
