Making a home for birds and insects

In the intricate web of our ecosystems, every living creature plays a crucial role, and fostering environments where they can thrive is essential. Bird boxes and bug hotels stand as simple yet effective ways of supporting this process.

Bird boxes and bug hotels at Handforth Dean

One of the properties that we manage, Handforth Dean, has seen an explosion of bird boxes and bug hotels installed around the site last autumn, providing a safe harbour during the winter months for insects and being viewed by birds right now as a suitable home for nesting.

This has been a great team effort with donations from our partners Westgrove, Bidvest Noonan & Wanzl in supplying them and our landscaper Collins in climbing the trees to install them.

These simple ways to help nature offer safe spots for birds and insects to live and breed, boosting the environment and helping pollinating insects to thrive. Installing these helps bring back local wildlife and supports our ecosystems. We believe that this is an easy step towards nurturing nature and preserving biodiversity and will keep an eye out for fledgling birds as spring gets underway.
